    Assignee

    Definition:
    The entity that is the recipient of a transfer of a patent application, patent, trademark application or trademark registration from its owner of record (assignor)

    First To file

    Definition:
    The first person/entity to file an application for a patent receives the patent no matter who was the first to invent the invention.

    Drawing

    Definition:
    Patent drawings must show every feature of the invention as specified in the claims. Omission of drawings may cause an application to be considered incomplete.

    Continuation

    Definition:
    second application for the same invention claimed in a prior nonprovisional application and filed before the first application becomes abandoned or patented
